Good evening. I know yall dont mess with semi trucks but I need some help with this. I drove my 2013 Kentworth T800 with the MX13 paccar engine to a local repair shop to swap fuel tanks and change the front engine pully. The mechanic told me he finished the repair but put only 8 gallons back in the tank, not enough fuel for the pick up tube to reach, back in the tank and started the truck up and idled the truck until it died in his shop. Now he is saying it is my fault that the truck is not able to start now and i have to pay to get it towed and repaired elsewhere. Is it my fault that the truck will no longer start and should i have to pay at this point excessive repair bill?
Is it my fault
It's your fault for running the engine dry. Watching the fuel gauge and operating the vehicle is entirely your responsibility, not his .
It would have been professional and courteous of him to let you know that he only put in 8 gals. So the service was crappy, but it doesn't make him culpable.
local repair shop to swap fuel tanks
what did he do with the fuel from the old tank which belonged to you?
