and
any issues/problems to consider with a 6.2L engine?
Clarification: in the context of which year/model? Also adding @USAFdozerpilot, @Mod_Man, and @7-3punchina3-4 to the discussion.
thank you
just looking at a F250, 2012, 190k, $16,500, and was curious about the engine

There have been minimal issues with the 6.2. Which is impressive, because they are abused and neglected in fleets by the thousands across the country.
If you're looking for a gas powertrain on a 3/4 ton truck for the 2021 model year, you can't do better.
Definitely the best gasoline powertrain Ford currently makes for reliability in my opinion
Excellent motors with minimal issues. As mentioned though, make sure to change the trans fluid every 60k miles to prevent issues.
It is a good drivetrain and if that truck passes a mechanical inspection, I'd say it could be a good buy.
@clemsonrangers yes the 6.2 V8 is a great motor. Been out long enough bugs are worked out and it’s ready to work too if you need it. I was on a forum the other day and most guys I saw said they had not issues getting to 300k mi to a guy has even managed to put close to 500k mi on his. The 6 speed transmission is great as well IF it’s been taken care of. Honestly As long as the owner changed the oil, coolant and plugs the motor should be fine. Id be more worried about that transmission fluid and filter have been replaced on time every time. Those transmissions are riddled with solenoids and if that fluid and filter isn’t changed every 60k mi it gets gummed up bad and it’s the end. But if that truck checked out ok you should have no issue going another 200k mi or more.
@clemsonrangers I apologize I forgot to add that check and see the condition of the water pump. That’s really been the only issue I’ve seen come up with those 6.2s but it’s only a issue that comes up once in a blue moon and on only a few of the motors out there. At 190k mi if it hasn’t been changed I’d replace it.
