Recently checked out a 2007 toyota sienna 4 cylinder auto with 170,000 miles. It ran great and stopped great. Man had receipts and knew the ins and out of the car unlike other venders(probably closeted dealers) who couldn't give the correct simplest answers. THE CONCERN WAS THE OIL CAP WASN'T REALLY OILY AND WHATEVER I COULD SEE IN THE ENGINE WITHOUT A BORESCOPE LOOKED DRY/STALE, NO SIGNS OF METAL FILINGS THOUGH. Oil line was up to hot dot. He was honest that he bought the car for cheaper from a family friend than he's selling it, but the price reflects on the money he put into it. He was completely honest about flaws about things buyers, or even many owners wouldn't even notice. Hes 2 of like 15 sellers that was more honest than necessary. COULD THE FACT IT SAT FOR 4 MONTHS BE THE CAUSE FOR STALENESS, IS THAT NORMAL FOR 150K+ CARS OR COULD THERE BE AN ISSUE HERE? doesn't seem like he's open to letting it get inspected, he's confident, as he should be, that someone else will quick glance and have cash ready in hand.

If they haven’t been run much , but if you test drive it then oil gets to the top and shouldn’t look dry or “stale” anymore. Have a mechanic check it over see what they say before you buy.

Not a good sign. I would walk a way. There are plenty of these cars out there.
