Should i take a used car or truck that's not under warranty, to a dealership to get it fixed, or a guy I can trust like you

You should only go to a dealer if you enjoy being ripped off. Ditto for places like Pep Boys, Midas, Firestone, etc. Best to find a good independent mechanic.

Avoid dealership mechanics. If you bring your car to a franchise shop like Pep Boys, read the reviews first.
