I have a 2001 Honda CR-V automatic 4wd with 157,000 miles. The car idles alright but when I put it in gear it shakes and dies. What can cause this ?
I changed fuel filter, checked spark plugs and cleaned air filter.

Unfortunately a whole bunch of different things can do that. Anything from worn out? Spark plugs clogged air filter bad fuel injectors worn out engine one timing chain a whole bunch of things. So start with the basics check, spark plugs change, fuel filter, check fuel pressure and pray it's not something more complex
