Okay so I have a 1995 Subaru legacy sedan FWD 220k miles I had a friend look at it he said it's a timing belt issue when I push the pedal lightly it goes up and revs up good but when I push more it doesn't go up like if I did it lightly I don't have any computers to check it and I don't know what to expect when I push the pedal completely it sounds like it's struggling for air please help me. And merry Christmas too

Well more often that's a fuel issue if you try to rev it and it won't rev a whole bunch with full gas and not getting enough fuel pressure

The guy i bought it from parked it he said he tried to drive it when that snow storm hit a while back he said it just gave out he parked it ever since my friend helped me get it running but it's not perfect and. Thank you for replying to me that actually helps alot I love your channel too been watching for a while and I enjoy helps me alot when learning more about this stuff

Check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail with a gauge. You can rent them at most auto parts stores. There's a Schrader valve that they hook up to. Fuel pressure should always be approximately 60 PSI. If it drops substantially when you rev up the engine, your fuel system isn't up to snuff. Change the fuel filter and run fuel injector cleaner before you mess with replacing the fuel pump. Your fuel pressure regulator may be wearing out as well. That car's almost 30 years old and has quite a few miles on it.
