I own a 1987 lincoln mark vii, and weeks ago I took it for a spin and when I turned left and it turned off. Could it be a sign of a bad power steering pump because it does grinding sound as I turn.

That thing is so old there could be almost anything wrong with it but a worn power steering pump wouldn't have anything to do with the engine shutting off. It's hard to see any kind of connection there.

@elvisimprsntr A 1987 car with an OBD2?
@bob81 Obviously it would be OBD1 for that car.
