I have a 2010 F150 only 36,000 miles on it and the check engine light has been on for 5 years now.
Code shows o2 after catalytic converter bad.
The truck starts right up and drive great. So why does it come on sometimes and then goes out other times?

What is the code? Codes in general don't tell you a specific part is bad, they tell you a condition exists that typically has a number of potential causes.
