I think it is just sad someone would do something like that.  All Scotty wants to do is help people out.

Agreed

Here here.

The guy in that video lost me when he stated that it won't help to take a modern computer to someone who has worked on 20-year-old computers. That's nonsense. I've worked in technology for over 40 years, worked with TCP/IP practically since it was invented in the early 1980s, and have worked on computers that at this point are 50 years old. It's called experience. I'm still active and have no problem working on modern computers and networks. (In fact it's not unusual that I've had to clean up the mess that someone wet behind the ears left behind.) With computers as with most cars the fundamentals really have not changed, but there has been new technology layered on top of the existing architecture. So right off the bat the guy's premise is fatally flawed and I see no reason to suffer through the rest.

Of course Scotty isn't perfect, nobody is. He makes mistakes and frequently owns up to them.  Scotty probably would not agree with my own choices in vehicles over the years and that's OK. Whatever his flaws from what I can see he's extremely good at what he does and has tons of professional experience that he's happy to share with others. (Not that he needs the likes of me to defend him.)

I'm thinking I hate the word "bruh" and that this thread will not go well.

People who have the time to make videos like that need to find themselves a job or something to do that is actually beneficial to themselves or others.

I stopped the video after about 10 seconds due to the annoying sounds.

Me too! {black}

Normal human talking skip to 1:50

haters are always going to nitpick while not producing anything. I trust Scotty.

His channel is called "All Performance Cars", but it's just a bunch of Mazda fanboy vids. His own description says " A bunch of MazdaSpeed videos, yup "

Cool story, bruh! 🙄

Seriously??? {black}

Ironically, this guy is using the same clickbait strategy, and benefiting from Scotty's popularity just by putting his name in the title.

TRUTH

I love Scotty but I hate the clickbait titles.  Just just adds a tiny bit to the dumbing down of society.

I think those clickbaits are more marketing trick to get more views. More views means more money from YouTube.

@g-t
The amount of a viewer watches is also important. If they just click but leave after a few seconds realizing its clickbait, Youtube would stop recommending it to other users.

I think the video made some valid points about Scotty, yes the music is annoying. Scotty does say really stupid things sometimes, but he does know about cars no doubt. I don't like his clickbait titles and his false claims. An example is the Supra video with the supercharger. He said the BMW Z4 had two turbos which is false. He does need to stop talking in such generalities and I think Scotty loves to take a $H!T on some peoples cars. An example is when someone was asking about BMW water pump and if he should replace it because they are known to fail at around 100k miles, Scotty responds by saying how bad BMW and their plastic parts are and how bad the car is and never actually answered the question or helped at all just hurled insults and he does this a lot. I agree, scotty acts like he knows a lot about speed and fast cars when in reality by the way he speaks he doesn't, he knows a lot about reliability and how to fix cars and history on cars but that is about it. I do believe he wants to help people but he makes his share of money off of his videos. I respect Scotty for what he is but he sometimes can say dumb things. I think he has a lot to teach but needs to keep his mind a little more open.

Not a good idea to post something like this on Scotty's website...

But why wouldn't you trust what Scotty says? He's a mechanic with over 50 years of experience...and he's very passionate about it too. You're gonna let some video created by a random person with probably ZERO experience dictate whether you should trust Scotty or not? I can't trust videos that use the word "bruh" every 5 seconds lol.

Oh. Well this thread isn't going well.

I want to make it clear I am a Scotty fan I am not hating just wanted people to debunk what he says.

So much for that {black}:idontknow:

I'm not hating on you.
I won't watch the video because whoever made it is a retard. But it sounded like they were going to nitpick some OCD details. Does it really matter?

1

The point he is making is that the videos are clickbait and titles are contradicting, but that has been covered many times so that isn't an issue for us in fact its funny. He is experience and helping everyone out. That horrible video creator could look it up on Scotty's channel and find the answer which he is too lazy to do.

1

I am not even going to waste my time on this.  Scotty and the rest of us are here to help people with car questions.

1

first stupid comment in that vid i saw was pointing out a car is supercharged, not turbocharged. both are forced induction, one runs from inlet the other from exhaust.who ever did the vid is being a nit picker and just  someone who wants to whinge about someone else's success.when i saw the comment about supercharging i turned it off.

Eh what is it with all these millennial clowns who think they know more then a seasoned 65 year old veteran with over 50 years of experience fixing cars? Some people are just stupid.

What Scotty says is all backed by evidence. Toyotas and Hondas are better then GM and Chrysler. Every study and article you can find confirms this. Where's the agenda? Scotty is a true American who just wants to tell people the truth and help the average guy.

Yeah that video is a waste of time.  People are smart enough to decioher Scottys integrity and expertise without an u credible halfwit no name hater making innuendos and superficial criticisms in a poorly made video.

If you think I'm a "halfwit no name hater making innuendos and superficial criticisms in a poorly made video" then you clearly haven't read the topic. I am on the same line as everyone here and just trying to show the hate and why its wrong. Thanks for your response though!

Simmer down. Chrissty was referring to the video "producer".

Yes I was referring to the video maker for sure.  My apology for not being more clear.

We all know about the "click bait" aspect of Scotty's videos and for those of us who know better, they are clever, fun and harmless. He has helped thousands of people. Lighten up Dude!

@mountainmanjoe times like this

My opinion:

At least Scotty is more trustable than my local mechanics.

Don't people have anything better to do? Im probably as old as Scotty and have done all the work/maintanence on cars myself. Nobody is perfect, but i couldn't agree with Scotty more in many many areas. I love his sense of humor!! We all have to relax a little but!
