Hey Scotty!

Do you think once Dodge, chevy and ford start making all electric half ton trucks they will outsell the cybertruck?

I think once the drawbacks become apparent to people who actually use pickup trucks to haul things the sales of electric pickups will drop like a stone. They make no sense whatsoever and there is no market demand for them. (The Cybertruck is particularly useless.)

Yes i agree. Im not a fan in lectric trucks im more into the diesels. The people who buy the cybertruck are gonna use it more as a car than a truck. It doesnt even have flat bedsides to set stuff on or put a rack on etc.

Their range is - okay - but only if you get the expensive model and only drive it unloaded. As soon as you try to do any actual work with it, the decreased range will make it basically worthless. Same is gonna be true for all the e-trucks (including the Hummer - lol).
But I don't know about no demand. I suspect they might get a few affluent guys who will want to have one to drive around LA on a Saturday afternoon.

There will always be a few gadget freaks etc. that will buy something like to just cruise around and say "look at me!". Other than that the demand isn't there. However anyone that has to get real work done or needs to haul a travel trailer or do anything beyond just driving around short distances is going to be disappointed if they buy an electric truck. That's when they're new, when they get old and the batteries are dying it's off to the scrapheap.

I say yes, The cyber truck is a show off truck not a real one.

I think the Big Three will outsell the Cybertruck eventually, just like the rest of the auto industry will eventually outsell Tesla in terms of EV vehicles (cars and CUVs) sold.  They have greater production capability and experience manufacturing than Tesla does.  It may not be right away but, yes, they will surpass Tesla.  There will be some demand for EVs and EV trucks (just like there is for supercars and hypercars) but it will be a tiny sliver for a while.  But, plug-in hybrid trucks seem more likely to catch on over all-electric trucks.

Seeing as how the Cybertruck is arguably the ugliest vehicle on the planet,  I'm sure that if Fiat came out with a truck, any truck, it would outsell the Tesla.

Im a ram/dodge guy and i get fiat is garbage but im happy with my 2020 cummins and i agree the cybertruck is the ugliest thing to touch godsgreen earth

My question is:  How will Tesla break through brand loyalty?

Will loyal Ford people pass up the new Lightning for some spaceship looking thing Tesla produces?

Hard core Germans aren't going to dump VW or Mercedes for an American billionaire, are they?

The new Ford Lightning (all electric F-150) has been unveiled, and so far I like it.  I won’t be buying an EV anytime soon;  however, to me, Ford designed it to be practical and very useful as a work truck, and I would get this over the Cybertruck any day of the week! (under lease of course).  Also, because it looks like the F-150 people are already familiar and I can see them trying this out versus something way out there like the Cybertruck.  And this is just the beginning:  Tesla needs to watch out, plus they have all their eggs in one basket (EV) unlike Ford and other manufacturers (with their different powertrain offerings.)
