#1 For absolutely no reason the headlights come on overnight and drain the battery! Doesn’t happen all the time, got tired of recharging the battery so I installed a battery disconnect switch that I activate every night, doesn’t happen all the time just occasionally! #2 sometimes I switch off the ignition and the engine keeps running, I just pull the fuel pump relay to kill the engine! I had the truck to the Chevy dealership and also to my local garage, no can find anything wrong! I’ve given up, and just disconnect the battery every night and pull the fuel pump relay when necessary! Any suggestions other than to sink it in the ocean for a fish reef! Thanks!

Maybe a short in your ignition switch? Do your lights come on automatically when the truck is running?

Interesting!!

Unfortunately, no, I don't know.  But you are at least #2.  My brother has my dad's (RIP) old 99 S10 that has been sitting in the driveway for the last 2-3 years.  We put in a new battery and got it to fire off, but we noticed the same thing with the headlights (we disconnected the battery and will try to get it sorted when we get time).

Maybe the s10 forums might have some knowledge.  Simple short?  relay?  switch?

If you get a diagnosis, PLEASE come back with an update for us.
