I have a question and if someone could please help I would greatly appreciate it over here I have an issue my 17 Chevy Silverado 1500 I cannot figure out what could be the problem so any ideas I would appreciate this is the problem I’m having there’s a little backstory  I changed the wiper arms and put brand new ones one from the dealer I even brand new wipers on I even went out and bought the OEM wipers and I still have this issue on the driver side on the down stroke it is smearing just one spot on the upstroke it cleans fine on the down stroke it just keeps smearing on one small section on the driver side from the left side of the windshield all the way down to the bottom of the windshield is one continuous streak of smearing andI do have a little chips in the windshield from rocks hit it and none of them are in that spot where I’m having the issue No matter what wipers I’ve used I’ve had the same issue it’ll work fine for a day or two and then all of a sudden starts doing that and he doesn’t get any better no matter what I put on that windshield or try still does the same thing so if anyone out there has any idea where queen and prom or how I could possibly correct it other than purchasing a new windshield I would greatly appreciate it. It may be the windshield is a little warped. Not much you can do about that.
But check the springs in each arm. Lift the wipers arms up from the windshield and see if one spring is weaker than the other, or maybe bent/sticking.
The wiper arms are brand new I purchased them a couple months ago from the dealer so they shouldn’t be bad
Oh, you bought the entire arm, not just the wiper blade?
OK I bought new wiper blades and I bought new wiper arms a few months ago because I was having issues with the wife were not grabbing on the windshield was skipping over the windshield so if you want to go I replace the wiper arms them selves but I’ve been going through wipers like crazy they all start off fine and they all start to complete smear one section on the down stroke I even went and bought the rain X latitude silicon advantage wipers nothing even worse so we’re not about the OEM ones that came with the vehicle at the dealer and other than that one little spot they wipe fine

You need a new windshield.
Oh yeah that might be the only option coming up next to nothing else fixes it but that’s estimate about 450.+ I just don’t have to spend But everything being ridiculously tight right now I can’t justify that type of spending.

How can I make absolute sure It’s definitely the windshield before I go home drop $450 plus I need new windshield hopefully it includes in-store I’ll have to double check on that one I wanna be absolute positive that that is the issue. Any ideas
If the windshield is warped there should be some optical distortion. You may need to try different visual angles to see it.
do you have full coverage? including windshield replacement?
The truck is being financed by a bank it’s on a loan so I do have full coverage I’m just not sure how it would work I think they only cover if The chip or the crack is bigger than 6 inches but I’ll have to look good point
get whoever is going to install the windshield to file with your insurance, i have never been turned down for glass replacement
