Greetings Scotty!

Long time/first time. I have a 2006 Dodge Caravan C/V with the 3.3L V6 and automatic transmission. I was making a delivery at a client location. It was raining and I had arrived at a client location for a pickup. I turned off the wipers and engine and removed the key from the ignition switch. I came back out a few moments later and the wipers were on. I tried to use the wiper control switch to turn them off to no avail. I ended up popping the hood and pulling the wiper relay out. The wipers stopped. I reinserted the relay into the receptacle. There has been no reoccurrence of this event as of this writing. Do I have a serious electrical issue or do you think this is a random occurrence?

Thank you so very much for taking time from your busy schedule to answer this question.

I failed to mention it has 260k miles and has performed admirably and been regularly maintained.

Electrical fault. Could be many things. Chafed wire, water in connector etc...

You can perform a cursory inspection, but it's not really worth pursuing until it happens again.

If your relay stuck on, it would do that. I'd replace that relay.

Lol.  Those are Gremlins.

My brother had a Grand Cherokee about that year.  He would come out of work and his windows would be rolled halfway down.

It was repaired under warranty, but I don't know what it was.

Somehow this question/problem has been marked as solved and I do not agree with that finding. Gremlins is not a patent solution/answer.
