I am shopping for a new car for my niece. Just basic Transportation. A lot of entry level vehicles have CVT or IVT and you have to change the fluid every 30K miles so the transmission will last. I wish manuals would return; especially in entry level vehicles. The maintenance is less and worse case scenario; repairs are simple. Plus, for a new 120 HP or so vehicle, the price is at least $1,000 less.
Well you pretty much screwed over there. Hardly anybody even makes manual transmissions anymore. But I believe you can get some Honda civics with manuals. And they are excellent cars
@scottykilmer In 2001 I purchased a new 1.6 L Hyundai Accent with a 5 speed manual for just under 10K. Great basic Transportation. If only car makers would still make simple, affordable and reliable cars. The CIvic Si with a manual transmission is great but I don't need 200HP. Thank you Carkiller for your advice and support.
