How do I improve my Altima fuel economy

My Nissan Altima 2015 only getting 23 in highway and 18 in the city , suppose to get 27/38 according to Nissan, my friend Altima have same issues 23/26, both well maintained car under 50k miles.

With reduced fuel economy I would think it would be a mass air flow sensor concern or an air fuel ratio sensor concern. The cvt should in no way effect your fuel economy and with the lock up function of the torque converter it should only raise you mpg’s.  I would recommend checking those readings of those sensors if you have a scan tool and to use a throttle body cleaner to check for any possible intake leaks 


there's no such thing as an air fuel ratio sensor. There are only oxygen sensors.
Because CVT is designed to keep engine within optimal power band, it should be more efficient. According to the government statistics, the CVT Altima is 19% more efficient than one with the conventional automatic.


Bank 1 sensor one is not referred to as an oxygen sensor that is called the air fuel ratio sensor on more current year nissans so I would start with what they are reading because they directly effect how rich or lean the vehicle is set to run
