I have a 1999 Suzuki Vitara, 2.0 liter, 5 speed manual, daily driver. 245,000 miles. typically runs great. the other day, i drove to work (25 highway miles each way) and on the way to work, no problem, everything fine, normal. after sitting 9 hours, i went to go home, started the vehicle, and it was misfiring horribly. the service engine light was flashing, and i cut the engine off. i have a Bluetooth Obd2 scan tool hooked up, and it said a misfire in cylinder one. i turned the ignition off for a minute or two, and restarted the engine. started and ran fine. sel was was now solid, not flashing, next day, engine running fine, sel light went out. in the last 6 months, i've replaced the spark plugs, coil packs, and mass air flow sensor (the spray cleaner was $13, a brand new MAF sensor was $18, lol) also replaced the throttle position sensor. I guess since my vehicle was also a chevy tracker made in Canada, i've never had problems finding parts, which you have said is a problem with suzuki vehicles in the US. anyway, what do you what's up? thanks for your help.

When it comes to misfires they can be somewhat tricky to trace.  I doubt a mechanical problem due to the intermittent nature of what you have but and if the coils and plugs are correct I would look in the way of a fuel injector issue since it’s isolated to one cylinder.  Take a long screw driver or a stethoscope and listen to the injectors and see if cylinder one sounds different like being quieter or anything
