An older person related to my son's girlfriend is selling a 2014 Nissan Sentra sr with 50 k miles. Asking price $8800. No accidents. Ac runs cool/not cold. What questions should I ask before buying. Is there any major maintenance expense needed or coming up that i would have to deal with
If I was buying the car for short term, (maybe a couple yrs) I’d take it to a mechanic and transmission shop that specializes or at least has knowledge on Jatco transmissions and get a very thorough run down on the condition of everything. With that being said I would not buy that vehicle for long term transportation given the history of Jatco transmissions and Nissans lack of QC.
Major maintenance expense needed? Yes, all of it. Run away.
It's not worth more than half that price and even then it's a gamble since the Jatco CVT might crater at any time.
