Yet another dealer ripoff (attempt)

Scotty, thanks for all the valuable info you provide.  I had to take my 2017 Ford Escape (31,000 miles) to a dealer for a recall.  I told them only do the recall, no 'inspection' necessary.  They said they do that automatically and I couldn't opt out.  So I get a message recommending (1) Clean/Sanitize the A/C - $175, (2) Fuel Injector Cleaning - $348, Coolant flush/drain/refill - $240, Brake Fluid Exchange - $155, Transmission Flush/Refill - $270, and of course, the ripoff alignment - $150.  I know I'm due for the coolant change and will do that with my mechanic, but I think the other stuff is BS.  The car tracks perfectly when I take my hands off the wheel.  I'm not experiencing any issues with the engine, the brakes seem fine and I can take care of the A/C with a little Lysol as you recommend.  Never doing a transmission flush as per your advice as well.  Just for fun, I did a google search pricing these services and it came up with about 1/2 the cost. Gosh, I hate going to dealerships!

Thanks for sharing your story. We need to hear more and more of these first person accounts.  It really bugs me how people can taken advantage of at the stealerships.
