Hey Scotty I'm a young guy looking to buy his first car. My two main Candidates are an 04 Matrix with 140,000 on the ticker for $4800 or a 1st gen O8 Honda fit with 158,000 for $3200(I'm in California by the way). I've seen your videos on your matrix  but can't find anything on a Honda fit. What's your opinion on Honda fit's in general and which option do you think is a better deal?

I would say If money isn't an issue get the Toyota, you never can go wrong with them. However if you wish to go a little cheaper and get a Honda make sure that the valves have been adjusted or use some of the left over money to get that done. Honda engines need their valves adjusted every 30,000-60,000 miles.

Me personally I'd grab the Honda and use left over money to fix anything wrong with it like the valves, getting the chain checked out since I believe it's an interference engine but the chains do last usually 200k. And since it's Cali your gonna have to make sure it's up to standards they have over there.

I believe some Matrix models have the oil-burning 2.4 engine, you'd want to steer clear of that, otherwise all else being equal I'd go with the Toyota.

If that Fit has a manual, I’d jump on it -
