I just bough6 a 2004 Saturn ion 2 with 76000 miles is a manual transmission what should I be looking for as repairs go through time

It looks like your power steering system may be a weak point. I'd definitely flush coolant and brake fluids, put in fresh spark plugs and an air filter, inspect all the hoses and belts, brake pads and shocks/struts - you don't know how well it has been maintained, and you don't want to find out what has been neglected the hard way - with a breakdown and/or big bill.
Then just follow the recommended maintenance - you should be able to download a owners manual if you don't have one.
