Love your videos Sir !
I have a chance to buy a 2014 Chevy Captiva (2.4L) Sport. Loaded with everything.
74,400 miles. Runs great. Extremely clean. Dealer let me take it for 1 night. No leakage.
Can buy it for $8,500 cash out the door. Should I do it ?
Thanks {black}
Being sold by a dealer is a major red flag. Right off the bat you know that it's overpriced and probably came from an auction and has no known history.
Those are poorly made vehicles and that one is nearly a decade old. The Captiva was actually developed and manufactured by GM Korea, which is the picked-over remnants of Daewoo. So it is even lower quality than typical domestic GM production. You can expect major problems as that vehicle approaches 100,000 miles.
Maybe it might be worth taking a chance if it was priced at just a few thousand, figuring it might last a couple of years, but even that would be a huge gamble.
Thanks Sir
Dealer - No.
$8500 - No.
Have you had an independent mechanic examine this vehicle?
Having my mechanic go over it this morning.
Thanks Sir
No.
Thanks

I would pass on that vehicle, esp. at that mileage and price.
The asking price is way too much for this car; it's not worth spending that much on a car that probably wouldn't last much longer without trouble.

Hey, your private life is none of our business!
I have a chance to buy a 2014 Chevy Captiva
Run away from this! There’s a reason they got their nickname of Craptiva..
Thanks everyone for your help.
