| @bob81 It depends. For example he says Toyotas are fine. 130k Isn't that much. I think It's pretty well explained In the FAQ If you haven't read It. It Should be decided case by case based on complete Information. It Should be based on model, history, Inspection etc. not Internet advice. There Is no one size fits all answer for everybody. | |||||

| Hi again scotty my 2011 RAM 1500 4x4 4.7 V8 has 130’000 miles on It. my question Is Should I change the transmission fluid and differential fluid since I have never done It. I don’t beat on the truck, have never towed anything with It. I basically babied It. my fear Is I am going to have a mechanic I trust to change the fluids since I can’t get under the truck that well anymore. my fear Is the truck Is running beautiful and smooth but If bi have work done on It that will change thanks Chuck from New York (Not the city) | |||||

| Thanks, I've heard Scotty say "150,000 or more" miles on a vehicle that has never been changed Is a bad Idea, which can cause the transmission to start slipping badly (I've also heard him give "200,000 miles" as a cutoff... "unless It's an old clunker you just want to squeeze a few more miles out of... what the heck, It may work!" Having said that, It seems this car Is a good candidate for changing 4 quarts and replacing the filter and pan gasket. I'm just looking to build my confidence. This car Is my daily driver, and Irreplaceable for me. | |||||

| $20 for the kit on rockauto. filter + pan gasket Don't you want to see what's In there so you know what condition your transmission Is In? You know ... look for debris, clean off the magnet , etc. | |||||

| I'm wondering what Scotty thinks. He has a video where he changes the Transmission fluid on a Sienna 2013 and he doesn't even mention the Transmission filter. Do you know how long does the filter Itself lasts at least? It's not a cheap filter. And yes, I do change the engine oil regularly. | |||||

| I would change It. Especially on a problematic transmission like your U660E. If It gets clogged you're hooped. You change your engine oil + filter regularly don't ya? | |||||
