| Buick Regal taillight assemblies melting | 16Relevance | 2 years ago | hah | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| The plastic taillight assemblies on my 2013 Buick Regal melted around the brake light bulbs. The car has 65,000 miles on it. A mechanic advised me to replace the taillight assemblies, which I did with used OEM parts (parts are no longer available from Buick). It's been less than 500 miles, and these are burning the plastic around the brake light bulbs, too. The bulbs are the correct ones. Several mechanics have checked the plug-in connectors coming from the car and said they are working properly. So, why is the plastic melting? The car was rearended a ... | |||||

| Answer to: 2015 Buick Lacrosse 2.4 Hybrid | 16Relevance | 3 years ago | Kaizen | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| The Buick Lacrosse is not a real hybrid in my book. It is basically a start stop system. It is a BAS system, which is a belted alternator starter. To compare, Toyota has an actual electrical motor connected to the drive train with a geared eCVT. The Buick system uses a belt and a traditional transmission. It’s like your alternator/starter making the car move. It’s a cheap way to make a “hybrid”. I am not to familiar with the Lacrosse, but The Car Care Nut, an honest mechanics like Scotty, suggests to stay away from belt driven hybrids. | |||||

| I'm looking at an '07 Buick Lucerne with 155K miles and a 2000 Buick LeSabre with 124,000 mi. Both have a clean title and appear to be in working condition. The Lucerne is newer and nicer, but I just don't hear much about them. Any reliability issues with the Lucerne? Thanks! | |||||

| Hi I appreciate the answer! Is it worth getting the Buick checked out by a mechanic to see what shape the transmission is? The car seems to be really babied by the owner ( a senior in his 80’s, only owner since new). I should also mention that I am in Canada, so the above is in KMs. So the Buick would be around 80k miles, the Camry 110k miles. Thanks! | |||||

| I have a 2001 Buick Century 3.1 l V6. My car drove fine and over the course of about 2 days it started becoming very sluggish when under load. It will idle fine. When we hook the scan tool to the vehicle it gave the code p0404 which comes up as EGR. It also threw a code for random misfire. I forgot to write that code down and do not recall what it is. Replaced EGR valve. Vehicle still has random misfire on all cylinders. The check engine light does not come on. Things that I have changed trying to find this misfire, plugs, EGR valve, wires, coil packs, ignit ... | |||||

| ... pedal to give the engine gas to move the car, the more and longer you hit the accelerator, the faster the car will go. Generally speaking, a hybrid in my book, has a gas engine and electric motor. The gas engine comes on and off as necessary to move the car. The electric motor comes on as necessary to move the car. And they both can work together to help move the car. Or they can work independently. It matters on driven conditions, and when you press the accelerator, the computer figures out which combination of gas engine and electric motor works best ... | |||||

| 1999 Buick Regal: None of those codes are transmission related. What I would do otherwise is check the knock sensors, Camshaft Position Sensors and the Heated Oxygen Sensor for Bank 1 Sensor 2. Check and see if the parts need to be replaced. 2004 Buick Lesabre: P1811 has to do with the Pressure Control Solenoid. I would check and see if that is bad or if the wiring is faulty. | |||||
