95 buick regal custom 3.8 will not restart

1995 buick regal custom 3.8 won`t restart. Ive changed every thing I could. fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, both 02 sensors, crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor, 3 coil packs, coil module, MAF sensor, air intake temp sensor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, temp level sensor. fuel pump relay.

Car starts up don`t even have to really crank it. let it run a few minutes. Turn it off and when you try to restart it the fuel pump does not fire up. it starts then dies right out. the only reason i think it starts is because of the pressure and fuel left in the line once it`s gone 2 seconds after starting it stalls. when I crank it, it cranks fast like there`s not fuel. If I shoot starting fluid the car will start till the starting fluid is gone then stalls. I was told by a mechanic the every thing is ok but when it won`t start he tried jumping the fuel pump from the relay and there was a little spark when connecting but the fuel pump which is new won`t kick on. let it sit for awhile and the it fires up like new. I don`t think its the key reader because it happen to my other buick regal and the dash lights flashed and if i keep trying it would start after a few tries. This starts when it`s ready.

Scotty please help {black}:grinning:

If I understand the narrative correctly, the new fuel pump is not working when powered directly with 12V applied at the relay socket. If that's the case either the pump is faulty or the wiring is. It is not unusual for new parts to be bad right out of the box. (OEM fuel pumps should be installed whenever possible.)

How much actual diagnosis was done before replacing all those parts?

not at all helpful but thanks for the question to my question

Like it or not, if you don't do a proper diagnosis of the problem you are not likely to come up with a satisfactory solution.

well lets see ive been working on cars since i was 16. im 66 so 50 years later do you think I haven`t done a full diagnostics on my classic buick. it`s in the electronics possibly the computer. everything read green.

I'm a bit older than that and have been working on cars even longer. However we don't know what people's backgrounds and skill levels are here or what they have done in addressing a problem unless they tell us. (I don't happen to be a licensed commercial telepath and I do not believe any of the other moderators, admins, or members are either.)

You have to go back over all that work and find out where the mistake was made and correct it.

Excellent @chucktobias, but should be in the "answer" section.

Will do...

as to your first statement there was no mistake made. every thing everyone posted I already explained and tried in my description.

Yet here you are asking for help, so maybe you should be a little more humble and open to other ideas. Especially when people are taking precious time out of their day, just to try and assist you. Call me crazy.

Chuck is right. You're not going to get very far without a pressure and voltage tester.
