| Good day Scotty, In the past you have featured a product that helped reseal piston rings… I have a 2008 Toyota RAV4 with the oil burning 2.4L w/ 150,0000K due to poor piston ring engineering. Do you think the product would help curtail oil burning by helping the rings to seat properly? If so what is the name of the product? Do you know if anyone else has successfully used the product for this application? Do you think it would hurt the engine i.e. make it even worse to try it? Thanks in advance, Fletch | |||||

| Hello, I bought a new car from a dealership. It is a 2020 mitsubishi outlander sport, it have 16k miles run and since 5k miles it started to have a very loud piston knock. The manufacturers book says that it must run with 87octane and thats what im using. Shells gasoline, in the dealership they said that I must switch from regular 87 octane gasoline to premium that is 91, it can run with that but before I do so, can someone please help or give me an advice on how can I get rid of that hard annoying piston knock. | On my 2006 Honda Odyssey EXL (160K mi), right rear shock (still original) is currently missing the cover over the piston rod because I believe it has rotted out and fallen off (so I see the shiny piston). There is no leak on it. The van still rides fine and the tire is wearing normally. Should I not worry about it, or would this fail abruptly? This is my concern so that I don't take it on long trips any more. But if this shock won't fail all at once, then I'd like to keep riding until I see symptoms of problems. | |||||

| {black}:idontknow: Scotty. I purchased a 2011 BMW 535i. Three days after the purchase, a piston and rod was damaged. Pepboys, suggested replacing the engine. What do you think about replacing the damaged piston and rod, and do I need to think long term about replacing the engine? I just picked up a third party Car Warranty through Endurance. I hope it's worth the $100 a month. | |||||

| I haven't heard of conventional oil having any benefits over synthetic oil. Synthetic oil maintains it's rated viscosity longer under high heat than conventional oil. I visualize viscosity by comparing maple syrup to water. The maple syrup is a thicker liquid than water, so the maple syrup has more viscosity. Viscosity is simply how easily a liquid flows. High viscosity liquids are thicker and flow more slowly compared to low viscosity liquids such as water. Since synthetic oil can maintain it's viscosity longer than conventional oil. | ... hasn't opened up yet, it bypasses the radiator and goes back into the block in a "shorter" circuit. There would almost be a vacuum if it sucked all of the coolant out of the lower radiator hose and the t-stat were watertight. I couldn't remember if the coolant expanded significantly while still liquid, or not. I was kinda reaching the end of my easily disposable knowledge (I woke up like 20 minutes before replying). I kinda didn't realize until your response that the hot liquid's expansion is quite significant. Hot liquid+the same space=higher pressure. ... | |||||

| I backed up my Volvo V60 2017 D5 Twin engine to a trailer and it went under the car damaged what looks like a cooler in the right back of the car. It started leaking some green liquid and I found a reservoir in the right side of the trunk with green liquid. And it is below the minimum mark. The Car now says there is a hybrid system failure. And when I try putting it in Pure (Full Electric) it says pure not availible do to low hybrid system temperature. I did some research and I think this is a cooler for the hybrid battery. | It seems like bottom end noise. I believe it is piston slap as it goes away once the piston expands when the engine warms up. I made a video the other day, let me know what you think | |||||

| It was a clear color and thin, not a thick liquid. Coolant is pink or blue, steering fluid is yellow, transmission fluid is amber or brown, oil is brown or black, brake fluid is yellow, and no fuel smell. I put a piece of cardboard under the car to check further. | |||||

| I have an automatic transmission 2014 Honda Civic LX with 243000 miles. I noticed a liquid drop from the underside of the car on the front center. It was clear. I have not used the car for 18 hours. Could this still be condensation? We had condensation on the car from moisture this morning, but the outside of the car appears dry. Thanks. | |||||

| Did you have the A/C running? The culprit of that clear liquid (I'm assuming odorless) is most likely from your A/C system just dripping water | |||||

| You can link photos with an image hosting site like imgur. Is it A/C condensation? That would be my guess. Coolant would be a dark color and obviously oil/transmission/steering fluid would be oily Washer fluid would also be something to check, especially if you filled it with pure water before and it froze. I would fill the reservoir in the evening, mark the liquid level, and check it in the morning to find out if it is the washer fluid.But it sounds to me like condensation. | Key question is this: can/should the evaporator be flushed while in the car, particularly while using the existing, hard liquid lines hooked up to the firewall-mounted expansion valve? | I've ran the combustion leak detector twice. Both times show negative results. I run the car for about 10 minutes and test for about 5 minutes. The liquid is still blue. If I breathe into the liquid it turns green making me think the liquid is working. I don't see any swelling in the lines. They do get firmer after running but I would imagine it's due to the system getting pressure. I did a pressure test at 15psi and the lines get firm and feel about the same as when it's running.
