| Answer to: Ford Ranger vs Ford Maverick | 20Relevance | 3 years ago | Dan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| The Maverick is based on the European ford Focus MK4. I can’t really comment on the Hybrid version and no one truly knows anything about it yet - all that’s known is that ford has a history of making the worst CVT/eCVT gearboxes and no reliability info is available yet about the latest generation. As far as the turbocharged petrol - The main difference is that ford is offering the 2.0L EcoBoost as was offered in the ford edge - and it’s not a great engine by any stretch of the imagination! A bellow average but with proper care, 125k-150k miles is proba ... | |||||
| Shopping for a used SUV, should I buy this one or wait? | 20Relevance | 4 years ago | AtlanticCanuck | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| While it is a bad time to shop for a used vehicle right now I have come across a used 2019 ford edge SEL AWD 2.0L with 73,000 miles for $19,223 USD ($24,495 CAD), seems like a pretty good deal compared to all other dealerships right now asking for $22,000 to $28,000 USD. Has no issues, no repairs or mechanical changes, and looks like it's in good condition, with no rust or anything. If that vehicle doesn't turn out to be a good one then when the summer comes with hopefully better deals my goal is to look out for a 2019 or newer Toyota Rav4 LE AWD or higher ... | |||||
| Answer to: Fix it or get a new truck? | 19Relevance | 6 months ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| You would be sorely mistaken if you were to do that. The new Ranger has the GM-Ford 10-speed automatic transmission, which has been nothing but a disaster, with both ford and GM having issued recall after recall to "fix" stuff that's in that transmission. The transmission was so poorly developed, both ford and GM say they will never work together on any joint venture ever again. I wouldn't touch any new ford with a 10-foot pole because of ford's horrendous quality control. This is why you should have had a mechanic go over the vehicle before purchase. Y ... | |||||
| Answer to: Transmission jolts going into 2nd gear | 19Relevance | 1 year ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I've been a ford person since I was a kid; only two of my cars have been makes other than ford. I had a BMW and an HHR at one point. I will not be buying any recent ford products. The GM-Ford 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission is a disaster, and ford can't get fuel injectors right. The Bronco Sport and Escape had issues with protentially cracking fuel injectors. Rather than admitting they screwed up and replacing injectors, ford put out a recall to put software into the car to detect fuel leaks. Then, they screwed that up. Stay away from relatively recent ... | |||||

| Scotty my 2013 ford edge is 9yrs old approaching 93k miles. The manual states to change the trans fluid at 150k miles if I do that the car would be around 15 years old by then. Should I change the trans fluid now I am not having any issues currently? | |||||
| 2013 Ford Edge unidentified noise | 19Relevance | 5 years ago | GreenPlantlady76 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have taken my ford edge in a total of 3 times now to see what is making noise when I break and after awhile it starts making a noise while driving at lower speeds. Every time I take it in nobody can hear the noise. Which I find crazy since even my kids can hear the noise. I have been assured nothing is wrong. I don't believe them. I feel like it's the brakes. Yesterday I put my phone on the floor in the back and recorded while I was driving and was able to record the noise. Should I have new breaks put on? Could it be bearings going bad? About ready to s ... | |||||

| Answer to: Should I buy this 2007 Toyota Highlander? | 19Relevance | 3 years ago | Dan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| (EDIT: reworded) 3.5/10 maybe a 4/10 - Since it's an early dry PowerShift that's out of warranty.. The PowerShift, a dual clutch transmission developed by ford and Renualt, is an absolute mess, especially on early model year ford cars. Ihad a ford Focus, it burned through two clutches in my time of ownership, got rid of it when the ford extended transmission warranty ended. (mine was a European one, built in Germany with the 1.6 Ti-VCT not available in the US, was a fabulous wagon - loved the car, but the shuddering mess of a transmission was too much ... | |||||
| Answer to: Should I buy a Ford Explorer? | 19Relevance | 5 months ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| The original Explorer (talking 1990s Explorers) was decent, but it had a tendency to flip over easily. ford was caught off guard and rushed a compact, Ranger-based Explorer into production. This was an extremely short-sighted "idea"; SUVs are a lot more top heavy than an equivalent truck. Shortly afterwards, ford learned of the Explorer's tendency to roll over in crashes, so ford's engineers recommended under-inflating the OEM tires to help minimize the chance of roll-over crashes. Firestone was not made aware of this and tires started blowing out because ... | |||||
