| I used the xtool d8 scan tool on my car, I did the live data scan on the car, it open the door locks and trunk now the trunk will not close. I checked the fuses and nothing. I dont hear any noises in the automatic button in the door panel or any connections. Please Help. | |||||

| hooked up the xtool D8 to my 2009 lincoln town car signature limited, ran live data test. I was parked near another car when I ran test, It said to be 2ft from another vehicle, I don't think I was far enough away...anyway the test ran through, it automatically open doors and locks but then the trunk will not close now, the switch in door doesn't work or make any connection sounds, checked fuses under hood and inside car so not sure what could be the problem. There's no power to trunk at all. I cannot close the trunk. HELP PLEASE!!!! The car has 95k miles | |||||

| My friend tried his OBDII reader xtool D8 on my wife car and it detected 3 trouble codes: Trouble Code C1201 Malfunction Of Engine Control System, C1231 Circuit Of Steering Angle Sensor, and C2122 Cannot Receive a Data from the Transmitter ID2 (Main) Current Her car is a 2011 Toyota Camry LE with 67,000 miles, 4 cylinders, and automatic transmission. I didn't see any warning light on the dash board and it drives fine except the power steering fluid leaked from the hoses (as I saw, not sure leak any where else) connected to the reservoir. | ... from the junk yard. I recently also changed the coil pack, ignition control module and map sensor. All parts from AutoZone. I also needed to change 1 spark plug since it was almost worn out. The other spark plugs were good. I still am getting engine code 340 camshaft. This car does not have a camshaft sensor. The tab on the connector or plug that fits on the ignition control module had broke off but the plug or connector still slides on. Why is my car's check engine light still showing code 340? is it because of the connector or plug with a broken tab ... | |||||

| Hi all, 2003 Lincoln Town Car with 81,500 miles. - Ignition Coils replaced - Spark plugs replaced - Cleaned out throttle body - Cleaned MAF - Mechanic checked it out and said there weren't any vacuum leaks so I'm puzzled - Tried Chevron Fuel cleaner and it didn't do the trick (figured) The car's been hesitating after engine is warmed up & It only hesitates once when I first start driving it at low rpms 1K-2K RPMS or accelerating around 20MPH-35MPH. And strangely enough, it only does this turning right. It has never hesitated driving straight or turning left which is confusing but whatever. I've put roughly a few thousand miles as of this year and no codes pop up indicating a misfire. I ended up trying out Mode 6 on my Blue-driver scan tool and it says all tests pass except for TID #56. From the research I've done on Google, this failure indicates the potential misfire events or number of events required for a 1000 rev test (rev no. varies). It just says fail on my scan tool. I'm not sure what this means and how I can diagnose this as the other data in Mode 6 is telling me there aren't any misfires happening on any cylinders. On another note, the live data is telling me one of my heated oxygen sensor is running lean (Xtool D7), could this also be a cause to the misfire? I don't see the short/long term fuel trim surpass the maximum allowed threshold (-10% to +10%) Any help would be appreciated and If I wasn't clear on a particular portion, I could try to add on more detail. | 2001 VW Beetle GLX 1.8l Turbo 5spd engine code AWV mileage 45,000 Hi, My beetle is triggering a P0171 and P0300 codes. The P0171 code seems to happen @ 60 MPH around 3000 rpm and the P0300 seems to happen at idle. Any advice on how to tackle these codes? I do have a xtool D8BT and a smoke machine. | ... like xtool, autel, or innova that some don't go back to that year or might not have access to all the modules like transmission etc.. Do I need a heavy duty truck specific scan tool? I would prefer one with all system bidirectional functionality and the lower price the better. Rather than trial and error I thought it would be easier to just ask here? Thanks.. | |||||

| Need your opinion on xtool scanners they seem interesting or any other comparable scanner. I just have a basic autel obd scanner and now I want to buy a tablet type that also does ECU programming, Key programming, air bag reading, bi- directional and the list goes. Want to be able to clear trouble codes. Want to get the most bang for my buck. $1200.00 price range or less. Please list authorized dealers for the scanners so I don't get ripped off. | Hey @Scottykilmer and @Dad2LM2 here's the update: Replaced the ECM today. Bought an xtool D7 scan tool off amazon and rewrote the VIN# on the remanufactured ECM and the car is starting. It's running perfectly. Reading correct voltage and no crazy dash lights. It was the ECM all along. | |||||
