Need your opinion on Xtool scanners they seem interesting or any other comparable scanner.  I just have a basic autel obd scanner and now I want to buy a tablet type that also does ECU programming, Key programming, air bag reading, bi- directional and the list goes. Want to be able to clear trouble codes.  Want to get the most bang for my buck.  $1200.00 price range or less.  Please list authorized dealers for the scanners so I  don't  get ripped off.  Rather pay a little more.  I'm not a jobber just a lowely 70's Era mechanic learning new things, trying to save money and buy a one size fits all product if that's  available. Starting to do maintenance  on family vehicles to save money. Prefer not to work on non family vehicles for liability reasons. I do still like working on my 68 Mustang.  It is stress relief from all the modern conviences, if you can call them that.

Wow! There's no one size fits all. And truthfully, I like the hotel scanners better than the x-tools. The actual company seems to promise a bunch of stuff and half the time it doesn't work. Recently I've been testing out some x toolls and I'm not impressed Sean, your case I'd probably buy an autel Tell me your and whatever price range you want to spend

Since you don't like Xtools how do you feel about Launch scan tools? Which model(s) have you tried out (if any) would you recommend?
