Toyota's New "Customer Support Program 23TE01"

I recently received a Customer Support Program notification from Toyota for my 2020 Toyota Sienna.  In it, they notify that the GDI pump can be leaking and that the only way to get it fixed is that you to be able to smell gas fumes in the engine compartment.  So far, it is not a recall but do I need to smell my engine compartment for gas fumes every time I drive it, just in case it starts leaking?

Gas is extremely potent smelling. You're likely not going to need to be under the hood to notice it. GDI has 100s of pounds per square inch of pressure, if it even starts to go, you will very likely notice. Gas readily turns to vapor when it goes from liquid to atomized gas fumes when it starts leaking. 100s to 1000s of pounds of pressure to 14.7 lbs pressure will vaporize gasoline in a heartbeat.
