| Hello. So I have 2010 honda accord exl 2.4l 8th gen car was driving fine no issues besides p0420 catylic converter code. Literally next day I go out start the car it cranks but doesn't turn on. Battery new terminals clean & on tight, alternator good starter good, I plug up my obd scanner & I get failed to connect error odd it was just working yesterday now it doesn't. Few months ago I did get a p0685 code ecm/pcm open circuit or relay it went away when I got new battery. So now the car doesn't start & obd scanner not working not sure what to do i ... | |||||

| Brought it to reputable place they changed one 02 sensor (now all are new) and right CAT converter (right bank) code came back - took it back to same guy -he checked and got the same CAT -right bank- replaced that and UNfortunately same code came back ! The catalytic converter was replaced and there's still a p0420 code? | |||||

| I have a f150 2018 2.7 with code p0430 p0420 but my concern is p0471 & p0299 also showed truck doesn't run as powerful as before power when passing a car on the highway before i buy both catalytic. does a bad catalytic causes these codes to pop up? | |||||

| ... have 183,000 miles on it and it has worked. However check engine light now comes on after just about 15 miles. I get a P0430 and p0420 code which could be cat or O2 sensors. I am hoping O2 sensors. Car still runs really well. I bought all 4 sensors to change out and have the tools to do so but am having a little trouble getting the front one off. I bought an air wrench to help but have not tried yet. Little nervous. What I was wondering do you still work on cars for new folks. | Good afternoon everyone hope all is well. 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with the V6 cheers to over 191,800 miles. Code p0420 but no symptoms... The code has been around for quite some time. Last year it was temporarily killed from the use of intake cleaner before it eventually came back. There's no loss of performance or gas mileage and it drives fine considering it still has the power. | |||||

| Friend’s dad has a 99 es300 coach edition with 357.8k miles. Drives fine but check engine light is on and has p0420 and P0446. We live in California so I told him it’s fine for now but it will need to be fixed to pass smog. I told them to change the gas cap to see if the 446 goes away so he’s gonna look into that, but I’m wondering if they could be related and all come down to a single issue, since they’re both emissions codes? | |||||

| Hey Scotty, thanks for all you do for the car community! Here’s my question…I have a 2017 Audi Q2 with the 2.0T 4-cycle engine. I’m getting a “check engine” warning light and when I scan the OBD I’m getting code p0420. I changed the Bank 1 O2 sensor and erased the code. The same fault keeps coming back after about 50 miles of driving. What could be causing this? A faulty sensor or something else I should be aware of. Thanks for you help! ~Scott | |||||

| My old 2008 nissan sentra base (153k miles) always has this code, but a bottle of catalytic cleaner will remove it (with code clear) for around 200-300 miles, did this twice for emissions and all passed. Btw, my car consumes a lot of oil, which i believe is the cause of p0420 | |||||

| Hi, I have a 2013 Infiniti JX35 AWD with a p0420 code and the check engine light comes and goes. Rpm is a little wobbly but the car is in great condition same as the engine.
