| I was wondering if that would work. Didn't Scotty say to disconnect the battery for a few seconds and it would reset the sensors? I'll charge the battery, disconnect it and clear the codes and take it somewhere to load test the battery and alternator. Thanks for the info. | |||||

| Not a bad idea. But load test the battery and alternator to see if they are both good. | |||||

| Speaker Problem for 2014 Toyota Avalon | 15Relevance | 3 years ago | SAXOY1905 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi, I own a 2014 Toyota Avalon, which I use as my daily driver. Over the past summer, I encountered a problem where one of the car's dash speakers slowly stopped working. After researching, I found that the car has three dash speakers, one on the driver's side, one on the passenger side, and one on the center, connected/combined with the two side speakers. The issue appeared after my sister took a road trip over the summer, where the car came back with the center dash speaker obviously blown. There was a clear buzzing sound coming from the center speaker, but the main issue arose later on when I realized that from time to time, the driver's side dash speaker started to cut out for long periods. For the last month or so, this cutting out has been pretty much permanent, where the speaker now rarely kicks in after very long drives, but it hasn't happened for the last week. I'm pretty sure that the driver's side is not blown since when it rarely works, it works wonderfully, but the problem is getting it to work. I have also checked the car's fuse box to see if there were blown fuses that could have caused this issue, but all the fuses related to infotainment were in good condition. Lately, this broken part has been bothering me a lot, to the point where my ear has been hurting while driving. I wanted to know if anyone here knew what this problem could be and how I could solve it on time since the car cannot be in service for long periods of time because of its role as my daily driver for college. Thank you for your help | |||||
| Driver side door will not open. | 15Relevance | 2 years ago | DirtDiverDan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have a 2020 Volvo S60 T6 Momentum 52k miles. Wonderful car. My driver side door will not open after hitting the key fob and all doors unlock. Even the driver side door, but door will not open. Again it's unlocked but will not open, it's like it's stuck or something. Sometimes it opens other times it doesn't. When it doesn't, I either hold down the unlock on key fob, or open from behind the driver side door. I told Volvo about it they are scheduling a time to look at it. Was wondering if it's something I could do myself. Thanks for what you do. You're AWESOME!!! | |||||

| @chucktobias Thank you for breaking it down! 1. The blue smoke happens at Start Up only. How do you check for sludge in the engine? 2. Oil Consumption test: I checked the dip stick before I took it back to dealer. Luckily they gave me the same reading from the dipstick, which was no oil leak. 3. I will try the ATS Carbon cleaner… thanks 4. I’m not so sure now where to take my vehicle for thorough inspection Thank you for your time in answering my questions! I’m sure others have asked, but would you all be able to inspect and repair, if I were to drop ... | |||||

| You failed to mention age and mileage. blue smoke when letting off the throttle (such as going downhill) is usually worn valve guides and/or deteriorated valve stem seals. | |||||
| Did I pay a fair price for this tow? | 15Relevance | 2 years ago | BobTheHatKing | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| TLDR I paid $1200 for basically an off-road recovery tow with about 20 miles of dirt road and 10 miles of paved that took roughly 7 hours up and back down. Fair price? . 2011 Honda CR-V LX broke down on a dirt road on top of a mountain ridge with one way in and one way out. AAA refused to tow due to the terrain. Dispatch quoted me $450 over the phone, but the driver told me their company is a contractor under the tow company I called, and dispatch is far away and unfamiliar with the area (despite me telling them about the terrain). I met the driver at the bottom of the mountain at the nearest town since they require me to be there for them to tow it and also I needed to guide him up there. From there it took us 3-3.5 hours to get up there going 21 miles. I was towed 30 miles out to the nearest suburban city where there was cell signal so I could call AAA to tow it the rest of the way and that took another 3.5 hours. I wanted to be dropped where I was picked up, since AAA will tow on paved roads, but there was no signal there and it was 9pm so everything in town was closed and I couldn’t borrow a landline, so we kept going where I got a signal at a junction 2.3 miles away, but the driver refused to drop me there because there was nothing around and he said it was unsafe for me there (I thought it was fine though) and I reluctantly let him tow me out to where I ended up 6.7 more miles away. I ended up paying $1200 instead of the quoted $450 which the driver said was due to the amount of time it took. He said he almost was going to give up and not do this job. Do you think this was a fair price? Another company wanted $2500 for this job. I probably should’ve asked them to give me the $450 quote in writing. But anyway a few things to consider: I am in California so labor rates are higher in general as well as the cost of fuel. It is also a county where the cost of living is higher. While you don’t generally pay for the miles it takes for the driver to get to you, I did ride with him up there and, as mentioned, it did take significant amount of time for us to get up there as it is so out of the way. But even if you don’t count the way up, it still took 3.5 hours to tow 30 miles. Imo, we could’ve done it faster, especially on the way up, but I guess he was being careful. We were going 5 mph basically the whole way up and down. The truck btw, was nothing special except for its age. What I mean is it was not a 4WD truck that most off-road recovery companies probably would have sent. It was a 1990 Ford F-series Custom Cab RWD dually flatbed and that thing was a beast. Not once did we get stuck or have to back up to re-tackle a hill on those dusty dirt roads with rocks and sand. No idea what engine it had but I don’t think it was even a diesel. It was a floor shift 4 speed manual with OD and on the way down the transmission got so hot you could feel it at your feet and I was worried it might overheat but it made it down. He was too but he didn’t tell me until we got down. We also almost ran out of gas. We went up with at least 3/4 of a tank and came down basically at the E. If you made it this far, thanks for reading my long post. | |||||

| Answer to: Do you know where we can find a high pressure fuel sensor for a bus!? Were in Denver.... its a blue bird 2003 cummins engine. We need one by tomorrow to drive out of state..... let me know if you can help!!! | 15Relevance | 2 years ago | Kaizen | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Junkyard, that might have a blue bird, but it is not a guarantee it will work. Or find a consumer truck model that might*** have the same engine, and get it from rock auto or an auto parts store. I don’t know if the engine may have been used in other vehicles, but it is a Cummins. | |||||
