| Answer to: Thoughts on High Mileage 2010 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost | 32Relevance | 2 years ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Pass. Those were among the original EcoBoost engines. They don't have a combo of fuel injection and direct injection, only direct injection, which leads to carbonization of the intake valves. They also wear out faster than they should. 4-cylinder or V6s with turbochargers and direct injection are only powerful because they're being turbo-ed and direct injected. The second one of those two things fails, it will be a dog. Given that it's also 13 years old and has high mileage, I'd run away. | |||||

| Let's say hypothetically that there's two cars for sale. One being a 2013 lincoln mks 3.5 ecoboost AWD with 103,000 miles for $11,000. And a 2012 Lexus LS 460 with 174,000 miles on it with AWD for around $12,000. If you absolutely had to buy one, which which would be the better option? | |||||

| Kerem, the OP was talking about the full-size luxury sedan the Lincoln mks (not the midsize MKZ) which shares the same platform as the Ford Taurus; However, the problems it has and the end conclusion is still the same. | |||||

| 2017 Lincoln MKZ opinions 2017-2019 Lincoln MKZ opinions 2014 Lincoln MKZ opinions This has been talked about many times but I'm going to keep it short, those cars weren't designed to last long. The water pumps are behind the timing chain on those V6 engines which means $$$$ when you change it, and the transmissions are downright weak. Ford also doesn't care about its customers so they don't make stuff right which leads to a bunch of recalls. Definite pass for me. | |||||
