Hey scotty!

I have an ‘02 4Runner SR5 thats got about 187000 miles on jt. I’ve got my abs traction controll and vsc light on. i dont quite know whats causing the issues but im trying to sell it soon just to get a little extra money for school. i live in a city so not having a car is no issue. traction control and vsc light prior to this was always on and off but now its been on the whole time since april. abs light only came on arounf a few weeks after i got my front breaks changed. my e brake also is seized up and is stuck on the down position, could that be a factor for my abs issue. whay are thibgs i can do to remedy these issues. also how can i get catalytic converters for the 4runner for a reasonable price.

You should scan the vehicle for codes. ABS and VSC problems are frequently due to bad wheel sensors but there can be other causes as well, engine problems can put the vehicle into "limp home" mode where systems like that are disabled.

Whether you can get catalytic converters depends on what state you live in. If you are in the Peoples' Republic of California, or one of the states that has adopted their CARB racket certification, you'll be paying substantially more for converters if you expect to pass state inspection. If you live in a more reasonable state you can use the less expensive EPA compliant converters.

Check around online for pricing. Here's some prices from rockauto.com to get you started:
