02 Camry, slow take off

2002 Toyota Camry 145k miles Automatic

Bought for $230, she was told the transmission was bad, she said one day wouldn't go into gear, towed to lex broodies. Told her get a new trans, sat in the parking lot for two weeks before I bought it.

Drove it home, replace fluid with 3 quarts of new fluid plus bottle of Lucas trans fix

Has been driving fine for several days now, sometimes slow to go into drive at take off. No slips, smooth shifting for most part.

Took over the mountain, with consistent 4-5k rpms long periods of time, did fine. Did it 3 times.

It's slow at taking off, saw a Scotty video with a 93 Camry with over 300k miles and it took off twice as fast as my 02 Camry does

What could it be, no check engine light other than a occasional cat code, good exhaust leak, couldn't pass safety.

Well, from the discussion I would say the transmission is the whole problem when they wear your Austin have slow take off. It's only a matter of time when they're worn that they'll finally go out entirely. If I are you, I'd be on the lookout for a good used transmission out of a junkyard
