Hi Scotty, I have a 2002 Toyota Highlander AWD 3.0 231k. Previous owner replaced timing belt and kit water pump etc…I replaced a burnt valve #2 cylinder both valve cover gaskets, plugs, coils, knock sensors and harness, now I have missfire bank 2. P300 P302 P304 P306.As well as an occasional knock sensor code but I’m thinking that the missfire is causing knock code?? Then in turns out it also causes transmission not to shift to overdrive because of knock sensor code. I can clear code while driving then tranny will shift to OD. (No tranny codes) It runs descent in my option but once it warms up it starts idling up and down then throws codes and starts acting funny!!!
I’ve replaced multiple sensors IAC, MAF, VVT…. I did another compression test on 246 cylinders and had 75+/- all cylinders but I also done a leak down test and it passed. (I’m thinking faulty comp.tester. idk?). I ran some gumout tune up through about 1/4 tank. Also checked for vacuum leaks

Missfire count is all over the place while just parked, but it does seems to level out either when car idles or idles high but my scan tool XTool D8 is not quick enough to see signal. One time while driving I had no missfire count at all. I’m a newbie to know exactly what I should be looking at on scan tool to be able to properly diagnose my problem. It seems to be something simple but my lack of knowledge can’t seem to figure it out lol. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I live just outside of Glasgow,KY about 2 hrs from Clarksville. I could bring it down if you have time to diagnose in person and it would also give my wife and I a chance to meet you. Lol. We are Texans too lol. We just moved up this way a few years ago from Lake Jackson,Tx. Can’t wait to hear from you. Thanks for all that you do. Jordan
