Hi guys I have been a subscriber of Scottys' channel for a little while now. I just bought a 2020 Volkswagen jetta se, I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips to keep the car going as long as it can any advice would help as I have never owned any German car. What should I keep an eye on, watch out for, mainly what issues are most common in a volkswagon jetta that i can get and what should I do to avoid those issues. I have watched one of the videos about start/stop system on the Ford and Chrysler being bad and is the Volkswagen start/stop system any good? Should I keep it turned off and not use it or just leave it as is and use it?

Just take a look around do u see any of them cars on the road ?

Next go the car junk yard and see if those vehicle are in stockpile.

The the market tell you.  But stop /start technology is stupid in my view.

In 2017 I bought my first German car, a 2016 Passat. It had 18K miles (now has 96K). Drove great at first. Did full synthetic oil changes every 7K miles. Around 80K miles, I noticed it started to "consume" oil. According to VW, "normal" oil consumption is about 1 quart every 1,000 miles. Needless to say, now I ride around with 3 or 4 quarts in my back seat just in case. Also, I just had to put a new in-tank fuel pump and control module in because the old one wasn't creating enough pressure ($1200 at the dealer).  Enjoy your Jetta for the next two to three years but then dump it for a Honda or Toyota. My dad has a 1985 Porche 911 and let me tell you, the Germans DO NOT build cars like they used to. This will be the first and last VW I ever buy!

Best of luck.
