once upon a time I had cold air put in my VW ac, warm air now -can the o-rings dry out ?? Please help me.

It can be many things. First see if you have enough pressure on the HVAC line. If you are low on pressure then you have a leak somewhere in the system. If you have enough pressure to VW standards, you might not have enough Freon or a bad compressor.

Scotty has a couple good videos you can watch to looks for leaks in the AC system. I would check them out!
