- The question I am asking is what would you do with my car?
2003 VW Jetta (Sedan) with a 4-Cyl, 2.0 Liter
128,500 Miles, Automatic, FWD
Warped Brakes (About to get fixed)
Making a squeaking noise when making turns. You can hear it from the wheels.
When accelerating it sounds like one of the belts are making a whirring noise.
I am getting it diagnosed, but it seems that the front suspension may need to be replaced.
2 Trouble Codes, P0420, P0455 (I do have a scanner)
When shifting from Park to Reverse, the car takes one second and then jerks as it shifts. From Reverse to drive it makes a big jerk to shift into gear. Now I may sound like I don’t know what I’m talking about but I am getting the transmission fluid changed.
Funny story, brought the car in to get the codes diagnosed and fixed and the mechanic drove it for 2 days and said no engine light came on. Once I drove it off the lot it came right back on! I’ve had the car for almost 2 years and haven’t been able to get it fixed (Which sounds more like a Me problem yes yes I know!)
The exhaust system also needs to be replaced.
My question is, would you put time and money into fixing this car or no?
Do you have any recommendations or suggestions on what I could possibly do?
Thank you!
Basically I would get rid of it as fast as possible. Volkswagens are endless money pits and yours has started to dig the hole
@scottykilmer Thank you for your reply I appreciate the response. I will take that into full consideration I am planning on looking into other cars.
