Hi Scotty my 97 4Runner 3ed gen 4x4 300,000 miles and running strong except my brakes seem to be engaging even when I’m not pressing them it takes about 5 minutes of drive time before the front pads start smoking on me and ever sense I first bought it the 4Runner always had really touchy brakes in my opinion I feel like they are super responsive kinda like driving with huge boots on and you don’t realize your stomping on the pedals but I have no such boots nor do I feel like I’m pressing the brakes as hard as they are responding, any thoughts?
Well, the brakes are certainly sticking on. If you haven't had any work done on them recently, they generally only stick on because either one of the calipers is Rusty and is dragging. Or the brake master cylinder is shot and will not release pressure. Generally, if let's say both front brakes are dragging, it's the master cylinder. They don't generally rust up at the same time. It would be one or the other then
