I have a 2003 Lincoln Town Car Signature Edition with 136K miles on its 4.6L V-8. The engine is great, doesn't burn any oil or have any leaks. The tranny is a whole other story but I already followed your advice on it.
Door locks: The doors won't unlock from inside the car or from the FOBs. They will only unlock using the numbered keypad on the door, or the key (drivers side only has key hole). The driver's door doesn't open from the inside either. I have to pull the handle, pull the lock "nub" up, and pull the handle again.
The doors lock fine from the inside with the buttons and when I put the car in drive (at 5 mph-ish). I have replaced the switch with a new one and nothing changed. I had programmed the FOBs a couple of months ago and they worked for a short while. I would replace the battery after 2 or 3 days when the car didn't unlock and they'd die again in a couple of days.
I'm at my wits end. The doors lock electronically with the switch and when I start driving. The doors unlock only with the external keypad. What can I do? And it's not throwing any OBD codes.

Sounds like the DDM - driver door module is defective or needs programming.
Their are Lincoln Forum sites which have this info and people have posted PDF files to explain and show how it works but you have to be a forum member to access those files. You can search for this problem and probably get those files for free on the internet instead.

For my experience and I was the driver's door module has broken you could try having it reprogram but normally when they do that they need replacing
