04 Buick Lesabre ignition module & coils

Topic starter

I had a misfire in my 04 Buick lesabre so I changed the ignition module and coils because I was not getting a spark on the coils. The module that I took off seemed to be corroded on the bottom so I believe this was the problem, however I am still not getting good acceleration and it may still be misfiring as I accelerate. It does not misfire while idling anymore. I used aftermarket parts, could this be the issue or may there be another issue within the ignition system?

Personally, I use only OEM parts for things like ignition coils. The aftermarket coils work well for 2-3 months and then go kaput after. To save me the hassle of doing the job twice, I’d just use good OEM parts instead. Now you don’t have to buy it from the dealer, buy it from wherever as long as it’s OEM.

The only thing is that I just changed them today...do you think there could be another problem like the ignition/plug wires?

Sure, check for any damaged wires/connections to the coil pack. Are all your spark plugs good too? Fuel pressure good?

One more thing to add...I am getting a code about a bad O2 sensor, I believe it is the bank 2 sensor. Could this be part of the problem as well?
