Hi Scotty, My 04 GMC Sierra pickup, 5.3L, 247,000 miles, automatic, has a "built in" PCV valve in the valve cover (drivers side) Do you think I should change it?

Yes, immediately if it's never been changed. You might be surprised how much better the vehicle will run.

It's not "built in" it's just stuck into a grommet on the valve cover. They cost $2.99 at AutoZone. When installing the new one, put some Vaseline on the end to make it easier to install.
