Good afternoon,
I’ve been watching your videos for a long time now, I have a quick question, I have a 04 Sebring convertible 2.7 v6 limited, 108,000 miles been a great car but I have this grinding noise during a cold start that goes away once warmed up. I know they are notorious for water pumps, would that be your guess? Or maybe a bad pulley?
could be tons of things take the fan belts off first if the noise goes away you know it's something they drive pray it's that and not a bad timing chain or internal engine wear
@scottykilmer
I appreciate it bud. I’ll keep you updated.
The timing chain tensioner is spring loaded as the engine is being started but as the oil pressure kicks in is hydraulically actuated. Could be the spring has weaked and/or worse the timing chain guides are wearing and making metal to metal contact.
