I recently purchased an '05 Mustang GT with 62K miles. It has the 5 speed automatic trans. I am pretty much positive that the ATF has never been changed as the first owner had it about 30K and I purchased from the 2nd owner who told me he never serviced the transmission. At this point the car is 17 model years old. It runs fine but I wondered if I should go ahead and at least do the pan drop, filter, and re-fill with Mercon V? I'll probably have it done when I have my state inspection. Opinions ??

Yes. Drain and refill and change the transmission filter. Don't flush.
