I have an 06 Acura rsx manual transmission and there has been a loud sound coming from the transmission when I put the car into 1st gear. It’s also quite hard to get it into 1st gear now. What could it be?

Bad clutch, first gear synchronizer, throw out bearing squeeling?

I would start with: 1) check and/replace fluid, 2) check the clutch, 3) check the change lever assembly, 3) hope that first synchro ring and first gear still are OK, … and that 1st/2nd synchro sleeve and hub are OK, too.
