Hey Scotty,

How long would a modern Honda CVT last? Are they better made than Nissan, Subaru, and Mazda automatic transmissions? Could a CR-V with a CVT last at least 200k if taken care of.

Depends on how much you take care of it and how you drive the vehicle, but it seems their lifespan is somewhat less than automatic transmission.

Its for my friend's mom who drivers very conservatively it has 21k miles how.

There are CVT Honda's out there running well with over 100,000 miles.

So 200k sounds reasonable with conservative driving habits.

Best to drain/fill the fluid more often.

We have one on our lot, 2015 Honda Accord EX-L Navigation, Blue Metallic, has all documentation since new, taken in trade from original owners, a mature retired couple that used it as a daily driver and in frequent trips to Wisconsin to visit son. 218,256 miles, original engine in very good shape, and our mech said documentation shows the CVT belt had been replaced 1 time at 188,000 miles but was still in great shape. Vehicle drives and handles very well, body and interior are excellent, back seat looks new.

From one of our parent dealerships, the couple purchased a new 2021 Honda Accord 2.0T Metallic Red, just a gorgeous car.

yeah baby it. take ur time taking off dont floor it. change ur cvt fluid with dealer fluid every 30k miles.

theyre nothing like the nissan trans if you're worried about that, honda makes their own. just do the maintenance when u have to you'll be fine
