I have a bad battery and figured it was my alternator so i got a new battery so i could test the alternator but after hooking up the New battery it is still not starting just making one click noise when I try and start it how can i be sure its the alternator if the car wont start to test it?

You can take the alternator off the car and take it to be tested. Most parts stores will do that. If you're just getting a click with a new battery though it seems more likely that you have a problem with your starter or battery cables.

what was the battery voltage when you tried to start the engine?
