hey scotty. i have an 07 yaris automatic with 227k miles on it. a week ago it started to make a whining noise when i started it up. my dad thinks it could be the power steering pump because as you turn it it gets much louder. what do you think this could be?

Based on the symptoms, it is most likely the power steering pump. Check its fluid level as well.
