Scotty, My 2008 crown vic with 160k miles for the third time my flexplate is breaking or bolts coming out of the crank shaft.

What is causing it to break?

I had the flexplate replaced 2 times already. And now it started ticking again just Like it did the last 2 times. The bolts to the tourqe converter are tight but I couldn't check the other bolts to crank.

Can it be a bad tourqe converter or can it be the transmission is not aligned correctly? The first time it happened it broke loose on the highway and I was left stranded and the car wouldn't start or drive.

yeah transmission is probably shot

Why would that affect the flywheel?

The flywheel absorbs movement and vibration from the transmission. You might want to check all the mountings too

I would assume I need to replace the tourqe converter because my acceleration is bad so a bad converter can technically cause the flywheel bolts to get loose

when you assume it often bites you in the rear.
Bad acceleration is usually from worn clutches.
My advice is to take it to a professional shop dedicated to transmissions.
