Before asking the question, I want to say that I have already read the FAQ on the topic of transmission well, many times. But I want to be sure of something, the 2021 Ford Ranger have I bought have 68,000 miles already from a Honda Dealership. I would like to change the fluid. For a Ford transmission, is it too late? Check the color anyway, thank God it has a small distick at the bottom. If I see that it is, I will do it.
Although 68K miles doesn't sound too bad, I can't think of anything more we can tell you that is not already in the FAQ for evaluating whether transmission fluid should be changed or not in a particular situation. We get asked this kind of question constantly which is why that topic is covered there in detail.
well with zero information, such as the service history, vehicle usage, fluid condition, etc... your guess is as good as ours. Take it to an expert.
the dealer is responsible for what happens for the next 2 years.
Did you purchase some extended coverage? Ford's factory powertrain warranty expires at 60k miles
@imperator We think we did(don't remember well) but I can go directly for the Ford factory and get my transmission or the dealer and get transmission. I think it would be remanufactured in this cases, because from what I heard they don't give you new transmissions.
@imperator well it's say hire I can get a new transmission with the cover from the manufacturer
The transmission have never been touch. And we don't have confidence in not many hire. As I tell before, I would check the color, smell, and see if any debris. The trucks drive as a dream. If all is fine, I would change it. In all cases it, the dealer is responsible for what happens for the next 2 years.
